Vipassana Meditation

Have been reading The art of living on Vipassana meditation. Wondering if i could do a 10 day retreat. My girlfriend reckons i could not manage :) She has a point, i talk for a living! I am glued to the phone or online or talking to someone :)
But the idea of developing wisdom seems like a good thing. So many times a feel emotions wash thru me and take me places i dint maybe want to go. It would be nice. So i thought i would give it a go. Try and get my yoga practice happening again, and start meditating a bit at the end of the practice. Thing is i find it hard to sit for long periods of time comfortably. So i thought i would make my self a yoga bench, this site has easy to follow instructions :) This site is also nice for everything Buddhist .
Still not well enough to run or surf or ride my bike but maybe gentle yoga and meditation will get me going again.
Collected DNA again today who knows maybe this take it's a goer! (let you know in 15 days!!)

I had the same fear before doing my first sit, but if you go with the attitude that your going to give yourself to the process and not fight it, you'll be fine. By the third you really sink into it anyway. It was seriously the very best thing I have ever done for myself, it changed both me and my life on many levels, my health as well. I sit daily now and try and do a 10 day sit once a year. Go, go, I highly recommend it - k
